Hello! Welcome to my site! I’m a craftsman with an artist background who has been building things for myself, family and friends for years. When thinking about it, I’ve been creating/building things all my life. It’s the challenge of the question, “Can I build that?” I’ve worked in a variety of mediums mostly wood, but also includes some metal, paint, stains, wood burning, shou sugi ban, air brush and epoxy. I’m drawn to natural materials like wood & stone and the beauty they hold. There is something about taking on a project and exceeding expectations that drives me. During the height of the Covid pandemic, instead of quarantining ourselves, my wife and I decided to build a cabin on the side of a mountain in Tennessee! Challenge accepted! We’ve built two additional sheds since then on that same property including my first timber frame and a post and beam. I guess I answered the question above… I can!

What is your process?
At Tom’s Woodworx, we follow a meticulous woodworking process that involves careful planning, listening to the client, and follow through.
Do you build onsite or in a shop?
Yes, we specialize in custom woodworking. Whether you need a custom-built cabinetry, an onsite timber structure or a smaller one off customer piece, we can accommodate within 90 minutes drive of Raleigh, NC. If further out, we can adjust to accommodate within reason for onsite.
What materials do you use?
We work with a variety of materials, including hardwoods, epoxy, lasers, light metal & stone.
What is your turnaround?
The turnaround time for custom woodworking projects can vary depending on the complexity and size of the project. Solid timelines are given before work starts and we do everything within our power to make it successful.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, we offer delivery services for our custom woodworking projects. We understand that transporting large and delicate pieces can be challenging, so we take extra care to ensure safe and secure delivery to your location. The delivery cost will be discussed prior to starting any project.
